The SMALP products have been developed for biomedical purposes, in particular, for the solubilization of (biological) lipid membranes and isolation & purification of integral membrane proteins.
After solving the SMA + buffer powder in water, the product is ready-to-use. It can primarily used for all cell membrane hosts, including bacteria, yeast and human cells.
After successfull solubilization of the membrane protein of interest, the protein can be purified using affinity chromatography. We recommend the Rho1D4-tag for membrane protein purification and offer matching products for this purpose.
SMALP Screening: Different membrane protein may perform better with different SMAs variants. To ease your screening process we compiled all of our SMAs into a convenient SMALP Screening Set.
If you also like to compare SMA to DIBMA in the formation of your synthetic nanodiscs, we also offer our, that combines both our SMA and DIBMA products.
