SLC25A15 - Mitochondrial ornithine transporter 1
Order number: 71411
Description
We are excited to introduce our off-the-shelf, full-length, active, and native Mitochondrial ornithine transporter 1, commonly known as SLC25A15 or ORNT1. It is a mitochondrial inner-membrane
carrier and important for the urea cycle that transports
ornithine into the mitochondrial matrix in exchange for
citrulline. Pathogenic variants cause hyperornithinemia–
hyperammonemia–homocitrullinuria (HHH) syndrome
characterized by hyperammonemia and progressive
neurologic dysfunction.
Our SLC25A15 protein has been solubilized and stabilized using our NativeMP™ platform, ensuring it retains its native structure and full biological activity, making it ideal for various research applications.
Applications:
- Screening/Validation
- Biologics Development
- Structure Determination
- Small Molecule Drug Development
The protein delivered can be used for these specific applications. When ordering, please indicate which applications you intend to use the protein for in the contact form to ensure the best results.

| Function | SLC25A15 plays a key role in the urea cycle by exchanging cytosolic ornithine for mitochondrial citrulline, thereby transporting ornithine into the mitochondrial matrix. Pathogenic variants in this gene lead to hyperornithinemia–hyperammonemia–homocitrullinuria (HHH) syndrome, a disorder marked by elevated ammonia levels and progressive neurological impairment. |
