GPCRs
G protein–coupled receptors (GPCRs) represent the largest family of membrane proteins involved in cellular signaling and are targets for more than one-third of all approved drugs. Their complex conformational dynamics and dependence on lipid environments make them challenging to express, purify, and stabilize in a functional form. As a result, structural and biochemical studies on GPCRs remain technically demanding despite their immense therapeutic importance.
